Top Destinations Over the Past 10 Years | Coach Hire Comparison

With our 10th birthday just around the corner, we’ve found ourselves reminiscing about the last decade and all the brilliant places we’ve had the privilege of taking our customers to. From wild hen and stag dos to a sophisticated day at the races, these have been some of the travel highlights from the Coach Hire Comparison archives.

Place your Bets

A day at the races is always a firm favourite in the CHC events calendar. While attendees are happy to take their chances on the track, it seems they prefer to opt for transport they can depend on to get them there.

From Frankel winning that race back in 2012 to the Queens reaction when Estimate took the Gold Cup. Royal Ascot has delivered some truly memorable moments over the last decade and we’ve been here through them all.

The Weekender

Whether it’s strolling down the famous Palace Pier with a 99’ and Flake to hand or discovering the quirky shops of The Lanes. Brighton has something for everyone, so it’s easy to see why the Southern seaside town has continuously topped the charts for a weekend away.

A big contender for Stags and Hens, the nightlife here is well talked about, and the free and diverse nature of Brighton makes it a perfect pairing for that ‘last night of freedom’. But the ultimate night out isn’t all that’s on offer here. By day, families and friends scatter the pebbled beachfront during the summer months to enjoy the fresh British sea air, and a visit to the famous Royal Pavilion is a must-see. Once a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV, the exotic palace takes on architectural styles from India and China, combined with Regency Grandeur to achieve a unique and ornate building unlike any other in the UK.

Catching Flights

Summer holidays in warmer climes than we’re used to in the UK has become an annual staple for families and groups. Whether it’s catching rays on the coast of the Mediterranean or heading further afield for a real culture trip, it all starts when you wake up with that giddy feeling on the morning of your flight and you head off to the airport. London Heathrow Airport is one of our most-booked trips because there’s nothing worse than stressing about how and when you’ll get to the airport or having to concentrate on the road on a couple of hours of sleep. Choosing minibus hire with a driver to get you there takes all the worry out of the journey, meaning you can keep that excited feeling for even longer, catch a few more Zs and all without costing the earth. We’ve partnered the best independent coach and minibus operators over the years to make sure your trip gets off to the best start and takes you home in comfort when you’re feeling those holiday blues.

Festivals

Mud-caked legs and wellies galore. Festival season is the perfect excuse to get the whole group together for a weekend full of amazing music, enjoying the great outdoors and letting your hair down all in one place. Glastonbury is the main event in the festival calendar, welcoming thousands of festivalgoers each year from all corners of the UK and further afield. Not being the easiest place to get to and lugging around heavy camping gear being definite drawbacks means many groups opt to book coach or minibus hire to get them to and from the legendary site so the fun times rolling. Plus, after four days and about 3 hours of sleep, a good seat snooze on the way home is definitely needed.

Beside the Sea

Being an Island, we’re blessed with glorious coastlines a-plenty here in the UK. And a trip to the seaside has always been a top day out. While we’ve seen many coastal destinations throughout the years, Weston-Super-Mare tops the list. Being one of the oldest seaside destinations in England, it’s become a well-established favourite for staycationers. With one of the longest stretches of sandy beaches in the UK and an array of seaside eats dotted along the promenade, it’s got everything you need for the perfect British seaside day out.

Being just 40 minutes from Bristol, groups of friends love to head here to make the most of the fleeting UK sunshine, and what better way than to put your feet up and split the bill with your mates.

Theme Parks

For the ultimate family day out full of thrills and smiles, it has to be Alton Towers.

We’ve had the pleasure of starting many journeys to the UK’s top theme park over the years, and there’s no sign of that changing in the future.

Whether it’s a day out with the lads or the kids first trip to CBeebies Land, the excitement on the journey there never fades. The journey home is another story, after miles of walking around the park and the adrenaline pumping, you’re sure to be in need of a rest after it all and the last thing you need is to drive hours back to your front door. Coach and Minibus hire is the perfect way to enjoy your full-on day out with as little stress as possible.

We’ve been so pleased to have begun so many amazing trips for our customers over the years and worked with incredible independent coach and minibus operators from across the UK to create truly memorable travels. We’re so excited to see where we’ll be taking you over the next ten years and beyond, wherever the trip and whatever the reason.
