Located just to the west of Central London, Hammersmith has a cosmopolitan vibe. Buzzing with energy and packed with places to go, you’ll never be short of things to do while you’re in this part of the capital.
Hammersmith enjoys a riverside location and there’s plenty of properties and venues which offer a view of the water. With gastropubs, historic sites of interest and glorious green parks, there are lots of ways to explore this picturesque corner of London.
As well as days out with the family, there is an enviable choice of attractions for evening entertainment too. The Apollo is one of the biggest venues in London and features international artists from across the globe. If it’s the theatre that you want, the Lyric is a popular choice, complete with its rooftop terrace and spectacular views.
Many say that Hammersmith is an area that’s divided in two. One half of the region is busy, with modern shopping areas, cafes and big businesses. Hop over to the nearby Shepherd’s Bush and you’ll find Westfield’s Shopping Centre, the size of 30 football pitches and a retail experience which offers everything.
By contrast, closer to the river and away from the centre of Hammersmith, you’ll find a more relaxed atmosphere. With plenty of places to take a stroll by the water, you’ll find old-fashioned bars and pubs, and restaurants where you can linger over lunch.
If you tire of Hammersmith, it’s easy to either head in or out of London, with the A4 running conveniently nearby. Whether you want to explore Central London or travel further out to Oxford, Hammersmith has excellent road access in both directions.
